Despite the fact all music videos are different they all share one purpose and that is to promote their song in order to generate more sales and also the popularity. Another reason artists make music videos is to give the audience visual simulation, the artist may want to portray a view through the illustration of their music video. Artists also make music videos to help the audience remember the song through the use of visuals, a great example of this would be PSY "Gangnam Style", the music video gained so much popularity and became the no. 1 most watched video on YouTube, which therefore gained the song and the artist himself massive popularity.

This is another example of a music video that is memorable. In my opinion, I believe the song was only remembered because of the music video. Soulja Boy was not known before this music video was released, but after a while of the video being released, he became one of the most popular artists amongst teenagers. What made this music video so popular was the dance routine that correlated with the chorus, the dance was very catchy and made the song and the artist popular globally. This music video has 163 million views on YouTube so the video clearly appealed to the public, and to have that many views for a first single on a debut album is remarkable.

This is an example of a music video that uses amplification to give the audience visual stimulation. The song itself is about domestic violence in relationships and the music video reflects the lyrics in the song. Not only does Eminem and Rihanna feature in the music video, who both have massive fan bases, Megan Fox also features in this music video as the lead actress in the music video, which could influence Megan Fox's fans to watch the video because she is in it. This music video illustrates the lyrics brilliantly and is very symbolic to domestic violence which makes it a very good music video. This video has 750 million views on YouTube so the video clearly appealed to their fan bases.
